Welcome to the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies.
IMAS was created by the University of Tasmania in 2010 to encourage collaborative research in marine and Antarctic science between various parts of the University, CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research, the Australian Antarctic Division and other agencies.
IMAS aspires to be the leading institution for the study of high-latitude marine and terrestrial science.
IMAS is in collaboration with the Government of Tasmania to deliver research and extension products for the betterment of Tasmania's aquaculture and fishing industries.
